This hotel is perfectly situated just outside the city walls of York and virtually 5 minutes walk from the Minster.
DWA Architects undertook a full refurbishment of the existing hotel in 1994 which included a new four storey extention providing a new reception and conference facilities at ground floor and 37 en-suite bedrooms over three floors above.
This new proposal is essentially a second phase which provides three further conference rooms and an additional 25 en-suite bedrooms.
Additional parking will be catered for with the provision of vertical stacking parking systems in a number of the ancillary buildings and the landscaping around the main entrance has been enhanced to soften the area generally and create an external seating area with direct access from the new and existing conference facilities.
