DWA Architects, following establishment in 1988, developed strongly due to its widespread involvement in hotel design. Projects were as far apart as Cornwall and the North of Scotland, and ranged from new build to extensions, refurbishments or merely internal alterations and upgrading. DWA developed experience and consequently a good reputation for dealing with the older style operation by bringing the accommodation up to date and by re-planning public areas to assist staffing and management and at the same time make them more customer focused.

DWA's activity in this sector continues and more recent projects include purpose built developments from two to five star.
