Social Housing

With Her Majesty's Government's continual cry for more “affordable“ housing in the country it is no surprise that DWA Architects have been involved in the provision of social housing through various Housing Associations such as Anchor Housing Association, and as the affordable element forming part of a private development, for many years. These projects are designed to comply with the requirements of the Housing Corporation and Secure By Design standards

The provision of housing for the disadvantaged and vulnerable in society has been a specialist area and one which has led DWA Architects to develop considerable experience particularly in the care-related fields but also in sheltered accommodation for the elderly and the homeless.

As always our design philosophy is to provide inviting homes within the context of their environment. On one site in Richmond we designed nine separate blocks for a housing association, but on land parcels of varying size to integrate with the surrounding local authority housing.
